The Playing Card Workout
I learned about this little workout trick from a friend who is an officer in the U.S. Navy. All you need is a deck of playing cards.
Following is the procedure:
- Shuffle the cards and place the deck face down.
- Draw card(s)
- Keep drawing until the total number is greater than ten.
- Face cards = 10, Jokers and Ace’s = 20.
- Take the number calculated in step 2 and do that many push-ups, crunches and jumping jacks with no rest in between.
- Rest for the number of seconds using the number calculated in step 2. Deep breathing and stretching is a good activity for the resting time.
- Back to step 2.
- The goal is to get through the entire deck.
Of course, you don’t really need a deck of cards for this, but it makes it a bit more interesting. YMMV.
