The Playing Card Workout

The Playing Card Workout

I learned about this little workout trick from a friend who is an officer in the U.S. Navy. All you need is a deck of playing cards.

Following is the procedure:

  1. Shuffle the cards and place the deck face down.
  2. Draw card(s)
    1. Keep drawing until the total number is greater than ten.
    2. Face cards = 10, Jokers and Ace’s = 20.
  3. Take the number calculated in step 2 and do that many push-ups, crunches and jumping jacks with no rest in between.
  4. Rest for the number of seconds using the number calculated in step 2. Deep breathing and stretching is a good activity for the resting time.
  5. Back to step 2.
  6. The goal is to get through the entire deck.

Of course, you don’t really need a deck of cards for this, but it makes it a bit more interesting. YMMV.
